- Systolic Blood Pressure <120 mm Hg and Diastolic Blood Pressure < 80 mm Hg
- Glucose <100 mg/dL and HbA1c <5.7%
- Triglyceride < 150mg/dL
- HDL (high-density lipoprotein) >40/50 mg /dL in men/women

Risk factors for poor metabolic health
Some experts say that metabolic health means the absence of metabolic syndrome. But some experts argue that metabolic health means that a person has good health overall and a low risk of developing metabolic diseases.
Several factors make up one's individual metabolic health, some of which are set and some can be controlled.

- Obesity and overweight are a huge risk factor; especially, central obesity is strongly associated with metabolic syndrome.
- Insulin resistance or the phenomenon where the body can not use insulin efficiently is a risk factor.
- Race and gender play a vital role; although black men are less likely than white men to have metabolic syndrome, black women have a higher rate than white women.
- The risk for metabolic syndrome increases with age.
Poor metabolic health increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
